Please speak to us at reception to get registered.

Adults

Before climbing with us, we request that you:

  1. Watch this safety video, if you have less than one year of bouldering experience.

  2. Complete this online waiver.

Acknowledgement of Risk Form for Adults
  • When you arrive at the gym, you must check in at reception.

  • If it is your first visit, you will need to be registered. This will involve checking your Acknowledgement of Risk Form and asking you some safety questions.

  • Once registered, you may purchase your entry and begin climbing.

  • Please come prepared with gym attire or clothing that you can do physical activity in. We have climbing shoes available for you to rent (£3.50).

Juniors

First Visit

  • The parent or legal guardian of the junior must fill out the Acknowledgement of Risk form on behalf of the junior. We reserve the right to call the parent or legal guardian of the junior to verify consent.

  • The junior must be accompanied and directly supervised by their parent or legal guardian on their first visit.

  • If their parent or legal guardian cannot attend, the parent or legal guardian must contact the gym in advance to arrange supervision, either by Sen staff (subject to availability) or a suitable supervisor.

Subsequent Visits

  • Juniors must be supervised by an adult who has passed the Bouldering Supervisor Assessment (please check Supervisor Eligibility).

  • Supervisors must maintain constant, active supervision and may not climb at the same time as the junior they are supervising is climbing.

Acknowledgement of Risk Form for Juniors

Juniors cannot climb unsupervised. They must be supervised by a member of staff or an adult that has passed the Bouldering Supervisor Assessment.

Unsupervised Junior Bouldering

Unsupervised access may be considered for juniors aged 16–17 who:

  • Have climbed at least 3 times at Sen, and

  • Demonstrate consistently safe behaviour, and

  • Passes the Unsupervised Junior Bouldering Assessment.

Unsupervised access is considered on a case-by-case basis and the decision to offer an assessment rests entirely at the discretion of staff. In some cases, staff may be satisfied to offer the assessment earlier, depending on the junior’s conduct.

Supervisors

Supervisors Eligibility

  • Must be 18+. If aged 18-20, must additionally have climbed at Sen at least one prior occasion before supervising.

  • Must demonstrate mature and responsible behaviour, a clear understanding of bouldering safety, and adherence to Climbing Gym Sen’s Safety Rules, as assessed by Sen staff.

The Supervisor Assessment is offered at the discretion of Sen staff.
